Who Conducts IELTS Test in Pakistan?
There are two autonomous bodies that conducts IELTS Exam in Pakistan
- AEO or Australian Education Office
- British Council of Pakistan
Both of these bodies help students to study in Australia, UK, USA and other western countries. AEO Conducts IELTS Test twice every month in big cities of Pakistan such as Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.

As mentioned above, AEO (Australian Education Office) conducts this exam 2 to 3 times in a month but Test dates can vary each month depending on situations especially in Covid Pandemic.

IELTS Exam Fee in Pakistan
IELTS offers Tests in two formats, Academic and General Training, these formats give authorities to properly assess listening, writing, speaking, and reading skills of the English Language.
Fee Structure for IELTS depends on Test Type and your test center. If your test center is in big cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad you may be charged a little more than in cities such as Quetta, Peshawar, and Mirpur.

No, you can not take part in the IELTS test from home in Pakistan. This facility is currently not available in the country.
What IELTS Score is required for study and migration
The IELTS Score will depend on what subjects you are going to study and to which university you have applied. But normally for undergraduate programs minimum, IELTS Band Score is 6 or 6.5.
For a work permit, the minimum Band Score required is 6 with some exceptional cases of 5.5.
How IELTS Score is calculated in Pakistan
IELTS have 9-Band Scale and every candidate will be given from 1 to 9 for each part (LRWS – Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking) of the exam. The average of these will produce your actual Band Score.
Each score represents a level of English for the candidate.
